I often wonder how I could change it up to be more functional most days but still have my big table for those special occasions. I have an eat-in kitchen and this suffices and is actually preferable for most dining needs. ie I’d rather have my grandchildren eat at the table with a floor I can mop vs. potentially having to send my antique.   For seven days, I set out to eat famous meals from books for dinner each night. My goal was to recreate the meal as authentically as possible, and eat it in the same way it is described in the book. When life gets busy, it can be easy to slip into the rut of eating on the run and neglecting to take time to sit down together. Yet this is something we should be striving to avoid. There are a whole host of benefits that comes with taking the time to eat dinner together, at the table.

  My favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing—I love making it, eating it, and talking about making and eating it. It isn’t visually appealing, but once you take a bite, it’s easy to understand why this should-be-gross food is a staple at American Thanksgiving celebrations. These tiny white bugs have caused a lot of confusion and panic in homeowners over the years. The panic ensues as you open an old book on your shelf and think that dust is moving everywhere—until you realize that it’s crawling and isn’t dust at all. These occasional invaders are probably Psocids, commonly referred to as booklice. However, to the surprise of many of our clients, they are.

While everyone may not have the exact same issues Karin has, many of us do have a lack of forgiving in our lives.

I hope readers will walk away from this book, willing to forgive those who have yet to ask forgiveness and step into a much more fulfilling life. And one with mine. He doesn’t have eyes for the popular. Instead, He looks for the lost needing to be found. And when He finds you and me, He says, You will always eat at My table.
